South Africa's trade surplus shrinks to 12.53 billion rand in June

South Africa recorded a trade surplus of 12.53 billion rand ($886 million) in June, from a revised record surplus of 18.365billion rand in May, data from the national revenue agency showed on Friday.

Exports inched up 0.7% to 105.2billion rand on a month on month basis, while imports were up 7.6% to 92.7billion rand, the South African Revenue Service said in a statement.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a trade surplus of 7.2billion rand.
