Nestlé refutes infant formula allegations

Although breastfeeding is praised for its significance and recommend exclusively during the first six months of life, infant formula is the only suitable breast-milk substitute recognised as appropriate by the World Health Organisation.

Despite acknowledging that breast milk is best for babies, multinational milk companies are often under fire for misleading publics about the nutritional value of formula milks, or pushing profits than nutrition.

The Swiss company is the latest to be named and shamed but has since refuted allegations by the Changing Markets Foundations latest report.  Jane Rabothata reports:
