SA President to deliver keynote address at AGOA forum
South African (SA) President, Cyril Ramaphosa, will this Friday deliver the keynote address at the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) forum, currently underway in Johannesburg.
AGOA is the trade agreement where United States (US) is partnering with 35 African countries. It allows preferential access for Sub-Saharan countries to the US market and has always been time bound.
AGOA must ensure that Africa is fully benefiting from the trade instrument between the US and Sub-Saharan Africa, a view of African Trade Ministers who are gathered in Nasrec, south of Johannesburg, for this three-day conference.
The 20th AGOA Forum is attended by over 2 000 delegates from the US and the African continent.
Over 600 businesses from the African continent are exhibiting their work here and they have clear demands that AGOA must be extended for more years.
