Ceppwawu apologises for strike inconvenience

Date: Jul 29, 2016

The Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers Union (Ceppwawu) has apologised for the inconvenience that will be caused due to the fuel sector strike.

Employees are striking due to a deadlock in wage negotiations. They are asking for a 9% increase, while the employer is only willing to give a 7% pay hike.

The union says countries that rely for fuel from South Africa in the Southern African Development Community region are likely to be affected by their nationwide protest.

More from Chief Negotiator at CEPPWAWU, Jerry Nkosiā€¦
