Briefly describe you/your background?  
Born on 5th November  1960 in Manyoni ,Tanzania .Being the first born  in my family i am proud to have seen the sun first. Basically  I call myself an East African and also a South African with a sounding name Arereng  of the Basotho .I  went to school in Kenya and Uganda and joined the National Radio in Uganda in 1979 as a presenter and climbed the ladders  and now work as an executive producer for the Kiswahili Service at Channel Africa in Johannesburg ,South Africa. I have been a really broadcast journalist from office job to field assignments  excelled in Sports commentary  when still young and energetic  ,covered protests and wars  in the jungles of DRC ,CAR, South Sudan  and Somalia and currently a desk journalist  executive. Been in the media industry for  37 years and after quitting this profession  would like to join the East Africa Legislative Assembly  before retiring in my farm  waiting the day to come for me to rest in peace and go to heaven.

What’s your favourite  day of the week and why? 
Friday because of rushing to Soweto  and  avoid  the traffic Jam  and  know that i will sleep  and wake up late the following Saturday.

Your Favourite weekend hang out? 
The Bomehian in Meliville and Dafine in Soweto .

What is your favourite form of relaxing? 
Watching Movies [–Action] and gulping a very cold Hansa pilsner  the  [Inghutu] Reading Novels ,watching soccer ,playing soccer in Soweto.

What makes you laugh/smile? 
It is money on pay day  and after concluding my show and paying debts.

What is your favourite tourism destination? 
Kruger National Park, Ngorongoro park in Tanzania  and Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda.

What or who inspires you? 
My bosses at work  the  General Manager and the managing editor, the editorial team and   my team and newsroom  staff.

What does it mean to you to be a part of Channel Africa in this era? 
Channel Africa  is in Africa and it  broadcast to Africans  with a sense of enabling Africans to manage themselves. I am happy to work for the Radio which champions Africanism .

How do you describe your on-air personality? 
I am quite  steady  and composed and  my happy moments  is when i receive SMS of messages on the Face book and Twitter which tells  me that i am getting feed back from the listeners .

Your most memorable radio moment? 
Announcing the downfall of president General Tito Okello Lutwa and  announcing the new capture of power by Yoweri Museveni.

Any other passions besides Radio? 
Yes to join politics ,farm management ,open a Translation and  Interpreting  institute  and  soccer management.
