The Life of an Intern

An internship is work experience offered by an organization for a limited period of time and Channel Africa was delighted to give a few candidates that opportunity in 2019.

The interns will carry out a range of support tasks in a junior role. The specific duties of an internship will vary considerably depending on the department they are assigned to. Unlike conventional employment, internships have an emphasis on training, rather than employment itself.

The station sees it fit to give graduates practical skills, workplace experience and greater knowledge of the industry they plan going into, as it is currently doing for the three (3) interns that were welcomed in November 2018.

Wendy MdloloAbout her experience thus far and anticipation for the next 10 months; Wendy Mdlolo, intern at the Marketing department says: “It is such an honour to be awarded this opportunity to be part of Channel Africa team.  The station is rich in culture, heritage and aligned with the African Perspective.  I am having a first-hand experience of a true African Renaissance and I feel warmly welcomed.  I look forward to learning a lot more about the station and the Marketing industry as a whole, as time goes.  I regard this as an opportunity that will shape my future.”

The other interns are based at Programming IKB and News and Current Affairs divisions (Nombuyiselo Tango and Lebogang Mabange).
