South Africa's embattled police minister Senzo Mchunu - who's been placed on special leave - has challenged Kwazulu Natal Police Commissioner Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi to produce evidence of wrong-doing on his part.
This follows new information presented by ...Mkhwanazi before Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee last week which included a letter from an inmate alleging corrupt links between Mchunu and alleged criminal cartel member, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
In the letter it is also alleged that there was an attempt by Mchunu's lawyers to coerce Matlala into signing an affidavit denying he knew Mchunu. In an exclusive interview with the SABC, Mchunu says General Mkhwanazi should take whatever evidence he has to the Madlanga commission.
