PAP president says Africa deserves seat in UN Security Council

Date: May 28, 2015

President of the Pan African Parliament, Roger Nkodo Dang says as the United Nations turns 70 years this year, it would be appropriate for the global organisation to reform and give Africa a seat in the UN Security Council.

He was speaking after his election as head of the continental body. All 54 AU member-states have taken a position to push for a seat at the UN Assembly in September. Dang says they want Africa's voice to be heard on the theatre of global politics.
