AU member states to the ICC threatens to quit should efforts to transform the court fail

Date: Jun 17, 2015

The African Union member states who are signatories to the International Criminal Court ICC have threatened to quit should efforts to transform the court fail.

This is according to the AU's civil society organisation the Economic, Cultural and Social Council Presiding officer Joseph Chilengi. He was speaking at the briefing on the sidelines of the African Union Summit in Sandton, North of Johannesburg in South Africa. He says the withdrawal from the ICC is a route they would take if all efforts fail. Nhlanhla Mahlangu reports.
