The contribution comes as the country is responding to its worst period of drought in decades, exacerbated by the recent El NiƱo weather event.
The funds will enable WFP to assist more than 270 000 smallholder farmers whose crops were devastated by high temperatures and lack of rain during the 2015/2016 agricultural season.
