[ON AIR] Trump's administration says that the conflict with Iran may be approaching an end, signalling openness to direct negotiations with Tehran while also suggesting the war could wind down even in the absence of a formal agreement.

U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier warned ...that military operations would escalate if Iran failed to accept a 15-point U.S. ceasefire proposal.

Key conditions in the framework included a commitment from Iran to abandon any pursuit of nuclear weapons, cease all uranium enrichment activities, and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

A new law has come into force in Senegal that doubles the maximum punishment for same-sex relations to 10 years in prison.

It also provides criminal penalties for anyone found guilty of promoting homosexuality.

The Senegalese Parliament voted... overwhelmingly in favour of the legislation, which President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has now signed into law.

Do these laws reflect prevailing attitudes toward same-sex relationships across the continent?

[ON AIR] Senegalelse President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, has formally signed into law new legislation on same-sex relations.

The law passed by parliament last month with near-unanimous support, doubles the punishment for those convicted from prison sentences of one to five years to between ...five and 10 years.

Several human rights groups have voiced concerns about the bill, including warning that it would dissuade people at risk from illnesses like HIV/AIDS from seeking help.

For more on this, @Lulu_Gaboo is now joined on the line by Richard Lusimbo LGBTQ activist in Uganda.
