Over a million people take part in Hong Kong pro-democracy protests
Organisers of Sunday’s huge peaceful pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong say at least 1.7 million people were a part of the demonstration.
In a sea of umbrella's and heavy rain the demonstrators crammed into Victoria Park and the streets surrounding the park, despite warnings from China.
The demonstrations are in their eleventh week and have often turned violent. However for the first time this was not the case on Sunday.
The demonstrations initially began against an extradition bill but have developed into a wider call for democratic reform.
