About two thousand young Africans from 36 countries are currently fighting in the Russian army in its war with Ukraine.
A report by Impact, a Geneva-based organisation that investigated the Russian recruitment network, has revealed the existence of online recruitment ...networks coordinated by the Russian Federal Security Service that reportedly lures young men with the promise to continue their studies or with the promise of a well-paid job.
Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Kenya have come forward to dispute the existence of these online recruitment networks by the Russian Federal Security Service.

The Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) has sought to clarify that the coronation of a Nigerian King in East London, in the Eastern Cape province does not seek to replicate or compete with the traditional authority that exists in the locality.
The union says the title only ...seeks to preserve the culture of Nigerians living abroad. There has been some backlash over the recent coronation of a Nigerian national, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Eziko, who was installed as a King in East London.

South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed concern over the revelations from the Madlanga Commission and Parliament's Ad-Hoc Committee.
This comes after the arrests of 12 senior police officers on Tuesday for their alleged role in awarding a health ...services tender to alleged cartel member, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
The commission as well as parliament's committee are both investigating allegations of criminality within the country's criminal justice system.
