Faith communities urged to address climate change issues

Date: Apr 25, 2016

Imam Talib Abdur Rashid, vice-president of the Muslim Alliance in North America, says faith communities should "join the chorus" in addressing the issue of climate change.

The Muslim Alliance is a network of Muslim individuals and organisations committed to working together to address social and economic issues, specific to the Muslim community.

The Alliance attended the International Islamic Climate Change symposium in Istanbul in August 2015 where a declaration on global climate change was launched and signed by 18 Islamic leaders.

Rashid spoke to UN Radio's Carmen Cuesta Roca on his visit to the UN in New York, where he presented the declaration to the President of the General Assembly.
