Date: May 10, 2016

South African Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Luwellyn Landers will visit the Republic of Gabon this week.

The department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) on Tuesday confirmed that Landers was scheduled to visit Gabon on May 12 and 13 with the aim of his visit being the “strengthening of bilateral, political and economic relations”.

Dirco said the visit would also strengthen and expand the partnership the two countries had and “provides an opportunity for the exchange of views on regional, continental and international issues of mutual concern”.

South African exports to Gabon totalled R520 million in 2015, and total trade between the two countries in 2015 was just over R630 million.
