South African President Cyril Ramaphosa state visit to Nigeria
In this week’s edition of Africa of the Future, we reflect on South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit to Nigeria to bolster relations between the two countries. The two are the biggest economies in Africa, and while South Africa has signed up to the newly created Africa Continental Free Trade Area along with 43 other countries, Nigeria has yet to sign. It is expected the CFTA will have far reaching impact on African economies and will significantly increase intra-Africa trade and investment. Africa has a market of more one billion people and a combined $3.3 trillion in GDP.
