Pirates aiming to end the season on a high

Date: May 26, 2016

The Buccaneers clash with SuperSport United at the Peter Makuba Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a match both teams badly want to win after relatively underwhelming showings in the league and other domestic cup competitions this term.

Mhlongo says past or recent form, or past final experience are not necessarily important; it’s all about the attitude and application on the day.

"We have played so many cup finals but the most important thing is to stay humble, keep level-headed and focus on the job at hand. We have seen how they play and we have been preparing well. All we need to do is take our 'A' game come Saturday,” said Mhlongo.

“Obviously, you are always as good as your last game," he continued, "so we don’t want to think much about the previous cup finals because what matters is what you will do on the day. We just know that we have to go out there and try as much as possible to win this cup final because that is the only thing that can salvage a season that went downwards for us.

"We have a chance to uplift the morale going into the upcoming season so we just want to end on a high note,” added Bucs' shot-stopper, who was the Man of the Match in the semi-final over Free State Stars.
