SA President’s farm trial postponed again

The trial into the theft of millions in foreign currency from South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm has hit another delay.

Proceedings at the Modimolle Regional Court, Limpopo Province, have been postponed to Wednesday.

A trial within a trial is underway to determine the admissibility of testimony from the state’s fourth witness, who claims he was coerced into signing a police statement he did not make.
The court has declared him a hostile witness.

The matter was adjourned after the accused raised concerns about misinterpretation by the court interpreter, prompting the judge to delay proceedings to ensure fairness.
