President Cyril Ramaphosa officiated the launch of the State-of-the-art Station 5A Water Purification Plant at the Rand Water Zuikerbosch plant in Vereeniging, Gauteng Province.
Ramaphosa says this is a fulfilment of his 2025 State of the Nation Address commitment to resolve the country’s water challenges.
He says the project will meet the water demands in SA.
The Station 5A plant is a key component of Rand Water’s long-term infrastructure plan, designed to ensure consistent and reliable water supply for millions.
The Mega project cost billions of rands and the Ramaphosa urged that it be protected.
