SA province sees surge in hospitality bookings ahead of FIFA qualifiers

This follows the announcement that Lesotho will host its final two FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The Confederation of African Football has confirmed that Lesotho will face Nigeria on Friday, October 10, and Zimbabwe on Monday, October 13, in Polokwane.

Lesotho has nine points in Group C after being awarded a 3-nil victory in their March fixture against South Africa.

SA forfeited the points due to the fielding of an ineligible player, Teboho Mokoena.

The municipality’s spokesperson, Thipa Selala says, “We are already seeing the benefits of these international games, as I was talking to our tourism guys within the municipality they said since we announced that we are hosting the two matches, Lesotho vs Nigeria and Lesotho vs Zimbabwe, our hospitality sector has seen an increase in terms of bookings around those two dates of the fixtures. It’s really contributing a lot to tourism and the City’s economy.”
