South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa is in Brussels, Belgium, where he’s attending the European Union’s (EU) Global Gateway Forum a high-level summit focused on advancing global connectivity amid rising geopolitical and economic challenges.
Addressing the opening plenary, Ramaphosa highlighted SA’s ambitious infrastructure development drive aimed at expanding trade and attracting investment.
He emphasised the importance of solidarity in a divided world, calling on wealthier nations to continue supporting developing economies.
Ramaphosa also spoke about the need for sustainable development and inclusive transformation, urging global leaders to build partnerships that empower communities and strengthen resilience.
The President’s remarks come as SA seeks to deepen its strategic ties with the EU its largest trade and investment partner and position itself as a key player in global supply chains.
