SA confident ahead of 2025 AFCON in Morocco

With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations just two months away in Morocco, South Africa’s (SA) Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie expressed confidence that Bafana Bafana will be fully prepared and continue the momentum from their bronze medal performance in Cote d’Ivoire.

The national team will be aiming to go all the way in Morocco, building on the progress shown in the previous tournament.

McKenzie also praised head coach Hugo Broos, highlighting his remarkable return to the World Cup stage as a coach 40 years after leading Belgium at the 1986 Mexico World Cup.

Speaking about the team, McKenzie said he never doubted their abilities and actively supported them throughout. He communicated with the players directly, posted encouragement on social media, and even travelled alongside the squad. He added that the team is exceptional and assured fans that they are preparing for the upcoming tournaments, including the World Cup in the United States.
