Bets hedged amid hopes for gold price to reach $5 000 mark soon

Analysts say the metal is poised for its best week in 5 years as signs of weakness in United States regional banks, global trade frictions, and expectations of more rate cuts sent investors flocking to the safe haven.

They have hedged their bets on the yellow metal reaching the $5 000 mark soon, with expectations that a short-term correction is likely to shake out weaker hands and attract fresh dip buyers.
