The gathering on Monday brought together government representatives, business leaders and other key stakeholders to explore new opportunities for trade and investment collaboration.
Hosted by the UAE Embassy in partnership with Creative Zone and Azanyah Trade Hub, the event highlighted the expanding economic partnership between the two countries, which continues to strengthen across multiple sectors including energy, logistics, finance and technology.
Economic Advisor of the UAE to SA, Jacob Ssali, said the relationship has flourished over the past three decades and continues to grow at an impressive pace.
“The UAE and SA share a long-standing relationship of more than 31 years, and their economic relations have actually been growing exponentially over the past five years,” Ssali said.
“Between the UAE and South Africa, the UAE is SA’s biggest Gulf Co-operation Counci trade partner, and SA is the UAE’s second largest trade partner on the African continent only.”
He noted that the two countries are deepening cooperation not only in trade but also in investment and innovation, with a focus on sectors that can drive sustainable economic growth.
