Rassie Nkuna is charged with the murder of the daughter of the EFF deputy president Godrich Gardee in 2022. The accused is also serving a life sentence for the murder of his girlfriend and her sister.
The 36-year-old murder accused, Hlabirwa Rassie Nkuna allegedly confessed to the murder of the victim, who was kidnapped in Mbombela in 2022. Nkuna reportedly used his Facebook account to lure unsuspecting women to their deaths, leading authorities to suspect he might be a serial killer. Nkuna allegedly committed this murder while on parole he absconded for two years. The case sparked controversy with Hillary’s father, Godrich, accusing the state of negligence. Gardee claimed that if Nkuna had been kept in custody, his daughter would still be alive. The trial proceedings are expected to last the next two weeks.
