SA Minister to continue testimony before Ad Hoc Committee

The Ad Hoc Committee in parliament that is investigating allegations raised by Kwa-Zulu Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, will resume its work on Tuesday.
South African (SA) Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who has been on special leave since July, will continue to give his evidence-in-chief.
Mchunu has, so far, defended his decision to issue a directive to disband the Political Killings Task Team on December 31, 2024.
He has argued he has the authority to do so and the decision was lawful.
Mchunu has also revealed that he had briefed SA President Cyril Ramaphosa on the decision, and the president backed his decision.
Members of Parliament will also have a chance to cross-examine Mchunu on Tuesday after the evidence leaders have completed the evidence-in-chief testimony.
