“Both crews responded out to the scene, and on arrival, the backyard room was well alight, two attack hose-lanes were laid for offensive fire suppression, then the fire was contained and extinguished. Search rescue and recovery was conducted following the information received on site of an entrapment and a charred body of a 90-year-old granny was discovered under the burnt rubble. Paramedics on scene declared the patient date and the scene was handed over to SAP for further investigations and for the removal of the body to a pathological facility,” she said.
