South Africa’s (SA) Health Minister Doctor Aaron Motsoaledi has asked for a commitment to a new global contract to end vaccines. He says the contract must be based on technology transfer and reciprocity.
Addressing the high level G20 Health Ministers’ meeting in Polokwane, Limpopo Province, Motsoaledi said there is a need to accelerate concrete regulatory reforms and financing to establish genuinely autonomous and sustainable programmes to end vaccines.
The meeting is the last G20 gathering in preparation for the G20 Leaders’ Summit to be held in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, later November.
