Whistleblowers continue to face retaliation

Corruption is plaguing the world, and whistleblowers continue to face retaliation.

The G20 and B20 stakeholders believe leveraging on the use of technology will enhance the protection of whistleblowers.

The stakeholders meet on the side event of the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group at the Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.

The event provided an opportunity to assess the progress in the implementation of whistleblower frameworks, exchange best practice and a stronger technology-based frameworks for integrity, transparency and accountability.

The protection of whistleblowers is vital for effective anti-corruption frameworks, in promoting transparency, integrity and accountability in both private and public sectors.

The B20 Integrity and Compliance Task Force has explored the use of technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to protect whistleblowers.
