SA Judge to be investigated for failing to perform judicial functions for over six years

South Africa’s (SA) Judicial Service Commission has resolved to establish a Judicial Conduct Tribunal to investigate the  failure of the Free State High Court Judge LJ Lekale to perform his judicial functions for over six years due to ill health

 

 The JSC’s decision the Judicial Conduct Committee’s recommendation emanating from the court’s Judge President Cagney Musi’s complaint which he initiated on January 31 this year. Details on the nature of Judge Lekale’s health challenge remain private.
