Calls for Zimbabwean citizens to remain vigilant

The Zimbabwe Independent Movement and Coalition of Concerned Citizens has urged the country’s citizens to remain vigilant.

This follows the establishment of the Zimbabwe Anti-Presidential Criticism (ZAPC) group, led by Andrew Pasinawako.

The movement has accused the ZAPC of intending to intimidate and silence critics of the country’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The group’s National Chairperson General Sithole, “The anti-presidential critique, it shows exactly that they are pro the president. They are not in a position to accept any criticism, be it constructive criticism or a criticism which may not be constructive.

And that on its own undermines the sense of the human right in the country, especially section 61, where we are having the coverage of the freedom of expression in one point. So it is subject to them, cannot allow a situation where the president uh is having a close disperse of criticism. That is why we raised a concern.”
