The final group allocations for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup have been announced, setting the stage for a thrilling season of continental football.

Africa’s second-tier club competition has once again drawn together some of the continent’s biggest names in what promises to be an exciting campaign.

The 16 participating teams were seeded into four pots based on their five-year CAF rankings, with four teams each in Pots 1 and 2, two in Pot 3, and six in Pot 4. The last two sides drawn from Pot 4 were treated as Pot 3 teams during the draw.

One of the standout groups is Group D, which features two Egyptian heavyweights and a South African (SA) giant:

Zamalek SC (Egypt)

Al Masry SC (Egypt)

Kaizer Chiefs (SA)

Zesco United FC (Zambia)

The draw sets up a challenging path for Kaizer Chiefs, who will face North African opposition known for their continental pedigree. Both Zamalek and Al Masry have strong histories in CAF competitions, while Zambia’s Zesco United are also regarded as formidable opponents on the regional stage.

The group stage matches are expected to kick off later this year, with fans across the continent anticipating intense battles as teams vie for a spot in the knockout rounds.
