South Africa’s (SA) largest telecommunications infrastructure provider, Openserve, is working closely with community stakeholders and internet service providers (ISPs) to ensure broader access to fibre connectivity nationwide. The Telkom subsidiary, which is also the country’s leading fibre network operator, marked World Fibre Day at its Centurion headquarters, highlighting its commitment to connecting more homes and businesses.
Chief Commercial Officer Mokgosi Mabaso explained the importance of strategic partnerships in expanding the network.
“Covering fibre across the country isn’t something you can do alone. Our partners, including ISPs like Afrihost, Telkom, Vox, and others, play a crucial role. After we lay the fibre, they deliver internet services on top and extend connectivity to their respective customer portfolios. Local community players also contribute in specific areas, ensuring that even remote neighbourhoods are connected.”
