Chad has closed its border with Nigeria following threats of possible United Sates (US) military action, raising concerns about regional stability.
“It’s unfortunate to see African countries’ relations being influenced by what the leader of another nation says. This border closure is less about local security and more about international politics, showing how foreign rhetoric can have ripple effects across the continent”, said Geopolitical analyst Aaron Ng’ambi.
Ng’ambi highlighted that while security concerns exist due to ongoing jihadist activity, the move reflects broader geopolitical pressures rather than purely local threats.
