CAF President, Patrice Motsepe says adding Morocco to the list of AFCON host nations forms part of the broader vision to develop the continent’s sporting infrastructure
Building on this vision, all eyes are now on the upcoming edition of Africa’s premier football competition, set for December 21 to January 18, across six Moroccan cities. With the FIFA World Cup to follow next year, Motsepe believes interest in African football will reach unprecedented levels.
“For me as president of CAF I have two obligations.  I need the best infrastructure, facilities, stadiums, hotels, roads. Second I have to develop football in every part of the continent and that’s why I am rotating, every zone must have an opportunity to hoot. Look what happened in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. This is part of what I have to do and contribute to the development and growth of football in all 54 nations,” he said.
