The South African (SA) Border Management Authority Commissioner, Doctor Michael Masiapato joined the Revenue Service for the launch of joint end to end Time Release Study report between Lesotho and SA.
The launch ceremony marks a significant milestone in bilateral co-operation, supported by World Customs Organisation Trade Facilitation Programme.
This, being a first joint end to end Time Release Study between the two countries.
The ceremony reflects the two countries commitment to the World Trade Organisation Trade Facilitation, and to data-led border management reforms in the Southern African Customs Union region.
But Masiapato says the new changes will likely be met with some resistance.
Masiapato says, these developments will need to be supported with infrastructure that will open up traffic in selected port of entry.
