Thousands of guests, including community members, relatives, and dignitaries from across Africa and beyond, are expected to gather at KwaKhangelamankengane Palace in Nongoma, in South Africa’s (SA) KwaZulu-Natal Province, for the traditional wedding of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini.
The King, who ascended the throne in 2022, will marry Queen Nomzamo Myeni from Jozini, becoming his second wife after Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela.
According to palace Spokesperson Prince Gibizizwe Zulu, today’s ceremony builds on Friday’s festivities and marks the formal traditional wedding of the monarch.
“This is the traditional wedding, and we expect thousands of people from within South Africa and abroad to attend. The King will tie the knot with Queen Myeni, who will be brought by senior members of the Myeni family, as our culture dictates,” said Prince Zulu.
The event is expected to showcase the rich heritage of the Zulu nation, reaffirming the monarchy’s cultural significance within SA and across the African continent.
