SA’s National Construction Summit

South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa today spoke at the National Construction Summit held in Boksburg, Gauteng Province, marking a pivotal moment for SA’s growth.

At the two-day event themed “Unlocking Infrastructure Delivery,” he highlighted the construction sector’s contribution to third-quarter employment figures after adding an estimated 176 000 new jobs and reducing the unemployment rate to 32.1%.

Addressing delegates from government, industry, labour, and civil society, Ramaphosa urged SA citizens to build a dream, laying the foundation for future legacies through reliable infrastructure.

Ramaphosa also emphasised the importance of infrastructure, saying it plays a role in reducing inequality.

He stressed that strong public, private partnerships will be essential to deliver over trillion of rands in infrastructure over the next three years.
