The United Nations (UN) is sounding the alarm over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan’s North Darfur region.

Millions of people are trapped and relief supplies are running out as fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues to block life saving assistance.

Last week it was reported that hundreds of civilians and unarmed fighters may have been killed during the city’s fall.

Both the RSF and the Sudanese army have agreed to various ceasefire proposals during their two-and-a-half-year-old war, though none have succeeded.
