In Malawi, two organisations, the Lost History movement and the Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives, on Thursday submitted a petition to the National Assembly calling for parliamentary business to be conducted in the country’s indigenous languages.

The groups say using mother tongues in parliamentary debates would promote inclusiveness and enable more Malawians to follow and participate in national affairs.
