Springbok Coach, Rassie Erasmus made 11 changes to his starting fifteen for their year-end test against Italy on Saturday. Flanker, Siya Kolisi will captain the new-look team in Turin

The bench see a six-two split with Grant Williams and Manie Libbok the only backs amongst the replacements. While number seven, Ben-Jason Dixon will play in his first test this season, with Marco van Staden in at number 8. Erasmus has a lot of faith in the relatively inexperienced front row of Venter, Grobbelaar and the young, Zachary Porthen.

“Definitely we are saving Thomas a little bit for the Irish test match because we won’t have him after that test match for Wales, because it’s outside the window.

We felt Boan is on cap seven and he is doing pretty well, Grobbies is on cap five or six, he did really well when he came on, even only for five minutes and Zach has played one game for us.

But on the bench there is nice security in the two props that have always played together, Gerhard and Wilco and obviously Marco who will cover at hooker,” he said.
