South African (SA) economist Professor Jayati Ghosh has urged G20 leaders to use the platform to drive meaningful change in terms of global inequality.
She emphasised that the discussions must confront the root cause of the problem, its key drivers and the solutions required to address it.
Ghosh said SA is well placed to lead the agenda, describing the country as a “beacon of light” for its stance against the Gaza genocide.
She shared the views with SA Broadcasting Corporation News ahead of the G20 Social Summit currently under way in Boksburg, Gauteng Province.–SABC–
