This was announced during a media briefing by the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS) on the security clusters state of readiness to secure the summit. Several civil society groups are planning to hold demonstrations during the summit. Deputy National Commissioner for Policing, Tebello Mosikidi says those who fail to comply and attempt to cause disruptions during the summit will face the full might of the law.
“Designated speakers corners around the vicinity of NASREC have been identified for this purpose. We will therefore not allow any disruptions, lawlessness and no damaging and defacing of G20 infrastructure including posters. Ladies and gentlemen, all law enforcement agencies deployed to secure the event will enforce the law at all times and at all areas of deployment including routes used by delegates, accommodation, and at this venue,” Mosikidi said.
