A French delegate attending the G20 Leaders’ Summit at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa says the absence of United States (US )President Donald Trump is likely to have a major impact on the summit’s agenda.
The summit, taking place on African soil for the first time, brings together hundreds of delegates, including heads of state, government representatives, and officials from G20 nations.
Clegate Texheur, the French delegate, told reporters that plans proposed by the US to address the Ukraine-Russia conflict are expected to shift the discussions.
Texheur said; “Trump’s decision not to attend has disrupted the summit. Many agenda items, particularly for European nations, are affected. With the peace proposals for Ukraine put forward by the US, the focus of discussions is now moving in a completely different direction.”
