Morocco’s AS FAR reclaimed the top spot in African women’s club football by winning the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League 2025 on Friday.
The team edged Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas 2–1 in a fiercely contested final at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt.
For their triumph, AS FAR received $600 000, reflecting a 52% increase in prize money from last year’s competition. Runners-up ASEC Mimosas earned $400 000.
The victory marks a significant achievement for AS FAR, reinforcing their status among the continent’s elite women’s football clubs and highlighting the growing investment and recognition in African women’s football.
