Rwandan fitness trainer Phocas Kagorora is preparing to break the African record for step aerobics by taking on an 11-hour continuous workout.
The event, “Onzestar Aerobics Workout African Records,” will take place on November 30 at his Gisozi-based fitness centre, Onzestar.
Kagorora will be supported by five rotating teams, with each team taking a turn for 2 hours and 12 minutes before the next group steps in. The aim is to surpass the current African record of 8 hours, held since 2022 by South Africa’s Team Durban Fit Squad.
“This challenge is about more than just a record, it’s about motivating people to embrace fitness and a healthy lifestyle,” Kagorora said.
Fitness enthusiasts from across the region are expected to turn out to cheer on the teams during the marathon session.
