The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms across provinces in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, the Free State and parts of the North West this Tuesday.
Heavy rain, strong winds, hail and lightning are expected to cause possible local flooding.
The Service’s, Lehlohonolo Thobela says people should expect dangerous storms and must stay alert.
“These conditions are expected to result in heavy downpours that may lead to localised flooding, a possibility of damaging winds, as well as hail and excessive lightning into the afternoon. For the extreme western parts, very hot conditions are expected to result in uncomfortable weather, especially over the central and western parts of the Northern Cape province, with heatwave conditions expected across Witzenberg Municipality of the Western Cape province until Wednesday November 26, 2025,” says Thobela.
