Committee Chairperson, Songezo Zibi confirmed to South African Broadcasting Corporation News this morning that the letter was sent overnight by Letsoalo’s lawyers.

Despite this, SCOPA will still convene at 10 o’clock this morning virtually, to assess its next steps. Letsoalo was summoned  to appear after repeatedly failing to attend the parliamentary inquiry into the Road Accident Fund’s financial affairs voluntarily. It remains unclear whether he will present himself today.
