South Africa’s (SA) Director General in the Department of Science Technology and Innovation Doctor Mlungisi Cele says one of their key priorities is vaccine development to improve the quality of life.
Speaking at the Science Forum SA 2025, Cele says institutions like Biovac have demonstrated their ability to manufacture vaccines.
He adds that they have opened a path to help society.
Cele says they are providing health solutions that could eliminate challenges faced by many SA citizens.
