Former South African (SA) President Jacob Zuma will this morning launch an appeal against the judgment of the High Court in the city of Johannesburg ordering him to repay $1.6 million in state-funded legal fees
The special motion will be heard virtually. The application pits the Presidency, the State Attorney and the Solicitor-General against Zuma, with political parties such as the Democratic Alliance and Economic Freedom Fighters as interested parties.
Zuma’s appeal follows a judgment that found that he was not entitled to taxpayers’ funded legal support and ordered repayment with interest.
